That is pretty cool. When you see 33 cars going 200, you don't have any perspective to tell how fast they are really going. When they are going up against those two, you can tell for sure.

F1 cars are amazing, I'm waiting for the first upside down track. There's a video out there with a rolls royce, a porsche 911, a ferrarri something and an F1 car that's very similar to that one
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

And I can just imagine in the 5 mph bumper crash test how much the damage will cost to repair....carbon fiber isn't cheap!

Hahaha, that's pretty awesome. The best part was right there in the last turn when he flew by them. Looked like the other cars were standing still, and the sound of that F1 car....mmmmm....

I've had a lot of pretty fast cars. The S2000 can post a solid 14.0 quarter if driven right. My Sti could post a 12.9 but to tell you the truth, at that speed you can’t really tell the difference all that much. I used to track my S2000 with the top down as seen here:

But that’s all strait line talk. The S2000 isn’t slow on a track at all. It can dominate a lot of cars that can easily best it in a straight line (take a Mustang for example).

And since we are talking F1, we aint talking strait line :P

I took my S2000 to the track pretty early after it came out. I was at a BMW track day. I had a 70 year old instructor drive with me. This guy took his cart out in the race class bracket in between our brackets. Took the guy around PIR and he started jabbering like a 17 year old in excitment. Asked me if it had a V8. I told him it was a 4 banger, he was shocked. We finished up and he told me that he had been racing cars and instructing for 40 years and it was the best feeling car he had ever been in.

I would really like to drive a Lotus Exige....Another case of not so fast straight, but will run around a track like it is on rails....

The S2000 is a nice car but to compare it to F1 is like saying a Mooney Acclaim is the consumer version of a SR-71 Blackbird. NOT EVEN CLOSE!

The problem with the S2000 is that it produces VERY VERY little torque below 5500 rpms. So in order for one to get it to perform up to it's abilities, you'd have to drive it like a madman. Redline was over 9000 rpms, iirc. When driven like that, it could produce low 5 sec 0-60 times....not slow by any means, but if driven like most cars, it was a slug. 240 hp out of a normally aspirated 2.0 liter(120 hp/liter)4 banger is quite an accomplishment, but not a very practical engine for everyday street use, as Honda found out. Gotta love that V-Tec....or not. I'd like to put one of those engines in a lightweight chassis to run some road courses.

hmmmm....he thought a regular street car (Honda) with a convertible top had a 10K redline and sounds like a sewing machine had a V8? Says a little for his credibility as a car guy for 40 years. There is no mistaking a V-Tech engine for even a small displacement V8.

The S2000 is a really nice sports car, but the best he'd ever driven . Put your butt in a Lotus Elise or Exige and I'd bet it would run circles around the S2000 which is still a great sports car.
