Center channel speaker placement solution needed

Hey Folks,

Ever since I got my HDTV flat screen tv my CSI30 center channel speaker has been sitting on the floor :( Its just too wide to fit into my TV stand.

I've been researching solutions including purchasing a new TV stand. I havent found one yet that can hold the center channel, HDTV cable box, Playstation 3, and receiver. Ive looked for hours for a TV stand that can hold all of my components.

Center channel stands are nice, but I wouldnt be able to access my playstation 3 ports easily.

Any ideas? Or, has anyone found a stand that would work for me? Hit me with a link or idea to help me out please :)))

i believe thats the one i got.
the upper shelf is tall and wide enough to hold the center channel. a csi5
on the lower shelf I have the receiver on one side and a horizontal Pc on the other side.
you should be able to fit the ps3 horizontally over the cable box instead of the PC.

Thanks thejck, thats a really nice stand! Only problem is I have a 4 1/2 year old and a 7 year old & well...glass TV stands and kids are a horrible combination! I should have said something about that when I posted. Thanks for the input man, the search continues....

thats a pretty sturdy stand. i have a 47 inch LCD on it and its solid. I got it at circuit city i think. but kids are a risk no matter what u get. trade the kids in for some more speakers.
just kidding. i have been facing the music from the wife to have kids tooo lets see how long I can hold off... good luck

I just went through the same dilemma. I personally think center channels sound better above the tv.

So I decided to keep my stand, and get one of these:

We got a tv stand from Wal Mart with two audio towers that holds everything nicely. My huge Harman Kardon Reciever 635 sits center below the TV and my Polk CSR sits in the slot just above my reciever with a half inch or so to spare plus even though it's below the tv I have no issues with the way it sounds below the tv.

Polk Audio SDA-1C's, with the new tweets and upgraded crossovers. I've had them since they were new (1989). Will probably have them forever.

I have this stand I got from BestBuy a few years ago, it appears they still carry it:

I like it because it looks very clean and modern. The frame is steel, the shelves are tempered black glass but they fit in very neatly, meaning I think it is fairly kid friendly.

The back posts also have cable management to hide all the cables.

I'm not sure on the dimensions of your center channel but I am using a CS20. It fits on the second shelf absolutely perfect (have to place it in from the side). I have a 55" tv on top, the CS20 in the middle of the second shelf, my PS3 to the right of this, my Wii is to the left of the CS20 and pushed back towards the rear, the bottom shelf holds my FIOS box and my Onkyo receiver. It all looks pretty clean.
