    Default Power cord question!

I have a Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver and it has a 2 pin detachable power cord and I want to upgrade it to a high-end thick power cord, but my problem is all the high-end power cords I've seen on net have 3 pin IEC connector, my question is, is it safe to use 3 pin IEC power cord instead of 2 pin cord.

The IEC plug end of a 3 wire cord will not fit the C7 socket of a 2 wire connector. PS Audio sells a nice power cord with a 2 wire C7 plug.

    From PS Audio's website:

I think they messed up when they wrote the last sentence.

    The C7
The C7 is used to lower costs to the manufacture and to make sure the AC cord is used in a properly polarized manner. The downside to this style of power cable is the almost inevitable use of non-shielded and small gauge copper in the cord itself. As a connector it isn’t all bad: as a power delivery system it has a lot to be desired.

But the next paragrapgh states that they are fixing the problem. Why would you want to fix something that has a lot to be desired?

"PS Audio decided to solve this problem for the thousands of folks that do not want to settle for second rate performance on their C7 powered equipment."
