The largest capacity available is 16G. Not so sure I want to replace my 60G ipod but it has tons of bells and whistles such as wi-fi itunes, and real internet browsing...

Very cool. It looks like the apple phone. I own a 2g nano and a 30 gig Ipod video. Son took the 2 gig, wife can get the 30 gig and I'll look into this. I also want a apple phone. Friend at work has one and it's badass.

Very cool. Im in the market for a new one anyway. I have 3, one I use in the truck, the other is a Nano I use when I ride the motorcycle, and the 3rd is the U2 edition, never used. Perhaps I should sell the U2 edition to a fan and get the newer one shown above.

Yeah, they announced lots of other new things today too - new Nano with a widescreen, bigger standard iPod (now named iPod Classic) (160GB!), price reduction on iPhone (down 200 bucks)...

Love em or hate 'em, they sure don't sit idly by.

What makes you think the touch has a compact flash card slot? Apple has NEVER had an expandable flash slot, I have seen no indication that this one will be.

Look at the video again at 1:28 it looks like 120gig not 12gig.

I wonder about the sonics think they changed over the old IPOD?

The new full-size iPod Classic is 120GB.

The new touch is 8 and 16 GB.

If the storage is being limited to 16 gigs, its more than likely some sort of solid state storage, not hard drive based.

The minis used internal compact flash cards for storage.

You pry it open and pop in any size you like. I took an old mini that had a 1GB Compact flash card and installed an 4GB, years ago.

But it looks like there is no more compact flash card in the new iphone. I guess back then it was easy to just buy 4 million 1GB compact flash cards. now they probally just buy the chip and solder it on the main board :(

My Fiancee has a 8gb iPhone. It does lack certain things. There's an update that apple has that they just put out. maybe it fixes some things.

There's no flash, no zoom, she can't attach photos to text mesages, only to emails. in the web browser you cant save pictures, there's something with copy clip and for fat fingered people (me) you can't really type on it. Hence the reason I do not have one.
