polk psw350 vrs psw404 about the same???

I am about to finish up my HT system with a new sub. Right now I have a old klh 12" sub. It says it is 100watt but being cheap probably not. It really isnt that bad as far as room shaking sound during a movie but now that I have a real receiver Marantz sr7500 (had a 500 dollar sony) it doesnt turn on the sub that often. I assume it is the lfe that the sub doesnt process and the sony put out a generic signal that it piced up all the time. I am just guessing here but only every now and then does the sub even light up and then put out bass. Most of the time only during a movie with hard hitting bass then it pops on briefly. I dont need a big sub like a psw505 or bigger (would get if price was right). So I have been looking at getting a psw 303 or 404 or the ps10 or ps12. Then saw alot of people not liking the cheaper ps series. Alot of people tuning around and selling them right away saying boomy or rattles. I dont know but price was right at around 200 bucks new. I dont want a cheesy sub so decided to get a psw series and have found a few good deals (80 to 150) for psw350s. How does it compare to the new 404? same thing but less power? I dont need to pound down the walls but want clean bass for movies and something that goes good with the rest of my system. (all in signature). I want to stay matched up with polk but am up to other sugestions if price is right. thanks for any recomendations or help with my questions.

The 404 replaced the 450, I have two 450's stacked for HT and they are awesome little subs one of the best Polk made, I would recommend the 404. my 450's go boom boom as loud and clear as some of these other higher cost models I have heard, of course clear is relative, they are after all explosions.
