    Default A/C Problems

    Asking all you electricians.

My time delay on my outside unit is bad. I have to keep going outside and tap the unit for it to turn on. I have already replaced the contactor. I have a digital thermostat inside, that already delays for short cycle.

Can I bypass the outside delay? Connect the thermostat directly to the contactor?

The thermostat is connected to a circuit board on the outside unit, then from the board connects the contactor. Can I just unplug the 2 wires going from the thermostat to the board and go directly to the contactor? Being the digital thermostat has a delay already, there is no need for a second one of the outside unit? So no problems should occur? That circuit board doesnt change the voltage, right?

    Thanks Matt.

I didnt know if the circuit board on the outside unit, changed the voltage in any way. Didnt want to send too many volts to the contactor and burn the magnet coil.
