    Default RTA-12 Replacement Woofers

    Howdy All,

I am the original owner of a pair of RTA-12 Monitor speakers. My problem is that one of the woofers surface is beginning to bubble and seperate. Polk tells me that they do not stock replacements.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to a replacement. Any help would be appreciated since the speakers have always been awsome!

if it's just cosmetic bubbling and the passive radiator still works fine.. then don't worry about it.. and just keep the grilles on all the time. there is no power to the passive radiators. this happens over time and I'm not sure why but it does.

if the passive radiator is tearing away from the surround.. then you may have to repair it yourself.

can you snap a picture of it and post it here for us to see?

    danger boy,

Yes, thats the best way to subscribe it, the surface of the passive radiator is "bubbling,"but it's only happening to my one speaker. So you recommend just leaving it alone for now, since the speaker still works?
I can try and take a picture of it and attach it when I get a chance.
    Thank you for the reply!!

Yeah, that's a problem that's not uncommon to RTA12's. As brother DB said, if it's just surface bubbling, then don't worry about it. There will be no effect on the sound - which, by the way - is excellent! I've got a pair of RTA12C's & love them.

Isn't this the RTA 12's? That looks like MW woofers with a 10" passive.
