Default Rt3000p Fried Amp / Replacement?

    All,

Just found the forum, lots of great info. Have a problem. My left channel sub of a pair of rt3000p speakers quit working. Sent the amp in to Polk, was told it was fried. they don't stock replacement parts any longer. They want 350 for a new amp. Had the same problem under warrenty with the right speaker a couple of years ago.

Did a search on the forum, but couldn't find if this is a good deal, or a design defect with the speakers. I don't use them hard so I am a little miffed at a 350 bill to replace what i think is a design defect.

So, does anybody have a spare amp laying around they want to sell, or any advice?

I need a better deal than 350 to keep my better half happy.

    Thanks,

    Jake

Never had an issue with mine over the years so a design defect....I don't think so.but you may be able to find a replacement bottom half of the 3000p's on e-bay for fairly cheap.
