    Default Miles Davis

I've just recently got into listening to Jazz this past year and heard Miles Davis- Kind of Blue for the first time a couple weeks ago. I was blown away by the song "Flamenco Sketches". I melted like butter when I heard it....

I need to get more Miles Davis and would like some recommendations from the peanut gallery. It is also important that the recordings are top quality- Redbook, HDCD or SACD Hybrid. Thanks Ern-dog

Earn Dog, "Bitches Brew" (double LP, recorded in 1968) is being remastered and re-released as an SACD in November. Right now the Japanaese import SACD is about $50. A complete masterpiece,

Porgy and Bess is my favorite Miles album by far.

"Seven Steps To Heaven" has the best recorded drums I have ever heard, and they're played by a 16 year old legend, Tony Williams. It also features Herbie Hancock on piano, and Ron Carter on bass. THE rhythm section to be reckoned with.

If you want a detailed explanation of what the "Seven Steps To Heaven" is, PM me. It's not suitable for public posting. You gotta love that.

There is a complete album titled "Seven Steps to Heaven" and the song also shows up on "Miles' Greatest Hits", both Columbia cd's.
