Default I would like a HT Audio Forum in CP...

Why not? With all the new HT audio formats coming out, why not have a forum?

We could put it right above the 2 channel..:p:p

    what do you all think?

I'd have to say the "electronics" forum is mostly talk about HT so it would not be necessary, IMO :).

Well I was just thinking, since Polk has shifted to HT audio, why not have a forum? For all us 5.1/7.1 people.

Instead of cramming, "what center speaker goes with this setup?" or "DD+, TrueHD" in a electronics or movie/music forum. Why not have its own?

There are alot of questions that dont quite fit the speaker and/or electronics forum. So this "HT Forum" could be for anything HT related.

Formats, speaker config, etc.. Can all go here. If there was a question on a particular AVR, Pre/pro, amp, DAC or player, then thats good for electronics. But so much talk about 5.1/7.1 DD+, TrueHD, DTS-MA, I think it should have its own place.

While I agree, but I think since Polk doesnt really deal with HD players or displays, it could very well fit in a HT forum, but on Polk's behalf, I think it should be HT Audio.

It seems to me that most of the Polk Forum (except car sections) is already devoted to HT, so a separate section is not necessary. That's why a special 2-channel forum was carved out.

I guess most of the members here have HT systems, and that's probably what lured us to this forum in the first place.

HD-DVD and BluRay are hot topics right now, but in a few months it'll be old news.

Great point my friend. But in all honesty, electronics is so vague. Too much unnecessary stuff, relating to HT, gets lost in the shuffle there.

Clubhouse? No, thats for just BS'ing. Electronics? No, thats for (IMO) individual peices of equipment. Speakers? No, same as electronics.

We have enough seperate forums, but I suppose if we combined the HT idea with the subwoofer/bass management forum that might make more sense. I don't tend to review the subwoofer/bass management forum.

I don't think adding another forum is nec., but combining with the above is certainly doable.

I disagree Early, I think HT wil only get more and more advanced and complicated. So many people already are asking "how can I intergrate my 2 ch into my HT?"

More and more HT'ers are popping up. Posting HT relatred question in too many different forums here. Lets make one for all HT audiophiles.

Some one visited our home page. Where does it anywhere say HT?

I see Electronics, Speakers, Bass management, 2 Channel..etc

"oh look Polk has HT products and has their own HT forum ", that sounds right, doesnt it?

Is adding another forum that big of a deal?

I think an HT forum would be a good idea. I hate running into HT junkies on the 2-channel forums, and vice versa.

The two followings are like oil and water. Not as bad as mixing car and home audio, but still not nearly homogenous.

Combine it with the subwoofer/bass management forum.

Rename the header: Home Theater/ Set-Up

I think its (please dont take this the wrong way:p), but I think its funny that Polk has a video game forum, and not a HT forum. Since Polk has nothing to do with video games and everything to do with HT audio.

If space is an issue then....(dont hurt me)

Combine the movie, music and video game , combine the vintage a 2 channel (since mostly all of the 2channel talk is about vintage equipment anyways) together and open a HT Audio forum.

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass
