    Default SRT Subwoofer

Just bought a brand new (at least, never used) subwoofer from an SRT system based on all the reviews for the SRT system, but I can't find much info on the sub itself. Anyone have the specs for it and what would be the equivalent sub in Polk's current sub lineup?

Paid less than $500 for the sub from craiglist, which seemed like a good price, but I wasn't really sure. What do you guys think?

I think you have been ripped off.The sub from the SRT speakers was designed .....well,for those speakers. It had a control box with all the adjustments needed to blend it in.Did you get the control box?As a stand alone subwoofer,if that is how you intend to use it,your going to be dissapointed.Sorry for the negativety my man, but, should check here first.

Thanks for the specs. I played with it a little bit today, just plugging it into my existing receiver/amp and it rocked the couch. I did notice that it was only kicking in at the very low frequencies. I guess I'll have to play with it some more before I know if I need a seperate crossover.

If you're using the receiver's crossover for HT and music, you don't need a separate crossover.

The SRT subwoofer the most explosive subwoofer I've ever heard....

It was almost uncomfortable to be in the same room with it...

If Polk could do that subwoofer design in an actual subwoofer design - I'd buy it for HT in a heart beat...

They can, they just haven't.....yet. The new DSW series is miles above their older subwoofers and the next couple rounds of more advanced subwoofers are pretty tight as well. The MicroPro is making its rounds on a local demo and is a blast to play with.

I don't see anything that will unseat my SVS Ultra/2....but I'm not embarrassed to have a Polk subwoofer in my house anymore. In addition, the in-wall subwoofers are very effective and I'm sure the GA Polkfest attendees can attest to that fact.

    The Sub Inwalls were PHENOMINAL

definitely wouldnt be embarressed to have those - they missed the very very last octaves, but they had the SLAM...

I'll be keeping my eye on some Polk subs for HT...
