Not much talk about new RTiA's?

Is it just because the 'old' RTI's are such a good deal right now?

Me.. I like the look, anyway, of the new models better.

And, I've heard different statements of whether or not the crossover was changed a bit in this line from the last ones. Some say the top end is a little softer, some say it isn't..

Personally, I'm REALLY wondering how the A6 center is. Because I was/am considering the new line for a balls-out HT-only setup.

But.. I like my centers BEEFY.

The RTiA9's.. I have FULL confidence in their ability to blow the doors off the dump. And the A3's as rears.. well, they would be plenty.

It's the center that's the unknown to me.

To this point I've been accustomed to stellar centers like the Klipsch RC-7, Onix RSC200 "bigfoot", Swan C3... and heck, even an Aerial CC3B at one point.

Will the A6 'let me down' when it comes to crystal clear vocals, even at lower volumes?

Somebody either talk me DOWN or talk this package UP.

The new line to me seems smoother in response across the board. I'm not sure why but even the bass is much smoother and controled sounding.
The new cabnet is 100% better. They now look like higher end speakers instead of regular cabnet speaekrs.

For rt speakers, I was inpressed.

I just helped my father-in-law set up his home theater system. He has a pretty big room (cubic feet wise) and was going to go with the RM series speakers. (cuz their small and thats all his wife wanted)

I went out and compared some different speakers with him and made sure he listened to some other brands and lines of speakers rather than just the RM series. He ended up with a Pioneer elite VSX-84TXSi AVR, the CSia3 and 4 RTia1's. (he prewired for 6.1 when he built his house, so I had him pick up a FXia4 for the back center duty). For Bass he is currently using an old Polk PSW-350 that I had in the basement.

I was really surprised at how good the RTia1's sound. Quite detailed with a decent soundstage. I honestly think I could quite happy with an RTia home theater. Even my wife was very pleased with the new shape and color of the cherry RTia's (and she makes a point to never compliment a speaker in my presence :)).

Cost ended up about the same as he was going to spend on the RM series (and about half what the VM series would have cost him) and the sound quality destroys either line.

Very impressive. One of my favorite lines of the evening (before I went over and picked up my sub) My brother in law (who has a Bose am-10 system) asked about the RTia1's "with speakers that big does he really need a sub?" Some people will never know more than they currently do.... ;):p
