Default Sub problems and all that jazz...

As you're probably aware, I've been trying to set my Dad up with a quality HT setup. Just as we're about to hit the last nail in this coffin, we realize his sub is DOA. Powers up, but no action. Currently using the line-in with a single RCA. Have yet to check with wires running to the fronts. It worked when he last used it. Doesn't work now. Switched out AVR's. Same results. blah blah blah Any ideas?

Sounds like it is not excepting the signal through the RCA and may not be going out of sleep mode. My old Cerwin Vega had this problem sometimes.
Try the speaker cables and see if that changes anything. If not, take it to your place to see if you can get it to work in your system.

Also check his AVR settings to see if he accidentally turned off the sub output on the menu setting. I have seen AVR's and pre/pros reset their settings sometimes and if the sub is set to off, it may be that simple.

Tried it with a different rig with same results. Powers on, but no juice. If I have to pop the hood on this biznitch, what next?

Open it up and check for a blown fuse on the PCB.

I know this may sound dumb, but did you try a different RCA cable?

I'd try a differnt cable before opening up, cable could be bad

Cable's not bad because it works on two other subs. If the powerlight comes on, could the fuse still be blown? I know that's probably a dumb question....
There's also a faint response from the woofer. Barely.
