Default Home Theater setup (design inside)

Just wanted to get some ideas of how I could set up my speakers with my tv and furniture in this arrangement but sadly enough I cannot do any wall mounting for my speakers. Right now I have Polk CSR, R300, R150, and HSU sub. On order though I will have Polk CSi5, pair of RTi8, fxi3, and will keep my sub.

Cool little drawing you've got going there. The two areas where I would experiment with moving speakers around would be:

    1) Sub --- you could try moving out from behind the TV, maybe next to one of the table/chairs. Might get more more impact from the sub with it out from behind the TV.

    2) SL and SR --- you could try moving them to the area next to the table/chairs. With a 5.1 setup you might like the surround channel sounds coming from directly your left/right side, rather than from behind you.

Good luck with your new speakers, I bet you will really enjoy the upgrade. BTW - where did you buy all of the new speakers from?

I thought about putting the surrounds on the tables but wouldn't that be more like putting them in front of me? It's really confusing but if you ignore the positions of the couch and love seat then it's more like the surround speakers are to the sides of the listeners. Actually right now the speakers are facing towards the back of the room and for some reason I like it in that it has improved the surround sound just a little though I'm not completely satisfied just yet. I hoping the new speakers will apease me though.

That is almost the same way that my system is currently set up and it works well. I have direct radiating speakers rather than FX series. I was ready to purchase the LSiFx and called polk customer service. They told me that if I could not get at least a foot away from a corner (or perpendicular wall) I would be better off with the 7's than the Fx's. (just a thought)

You can click the quote in my sig to see my showcase and speaker layout.
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)
