Ok... I am a newbie at this, so I was hoping to get some expert advice from you guys in regards to my thoughts or options on my HT system... I know a lot of it is a personal listening preference, but I figure some of you out there have personal experince with these items.... I know actually auditioning IS A MUST when buying speakers, and while I am just about to start that process, I was still just seeing what you all thought.... Here goes:
I currently have a Onkyo TX-SR800 Receiver, pair of Bang & Olufsen BeoLab 6000s (could serve as fronts or rears..... I guess), a Polk Audio CS245 Center Channel, and a Infinity lllll for my sub........ (Not real big on the sub at all....good for movies, but gets nasty trying to hit deep notes with music....) I am the odd ball I guess after reading these forums, bc yes I definitely fo want a 5.1 system for watching TV and DVDs, but I am a audio freak and most of the use (or enjoyment) will be primarily music listening.
I am in the market to buy a pair of Loudspearker for I assume my fronts. I am strongly considering the RTi10s but I have read that music might be better with RTi8s, and the 12s aren't really an option for me. Also, I don't think that the Onkyo TX-SR800 would have enough power to make the RTi10s sound like they really should......Sooooooo, my question:
1.) RTi10s or RTi8s
2.) if answer is RTi8s, does it still stay that way if I were to add additional amp(s) to add enough power to REALLY push the 10s?
3.) And Finally, I will shortly after this purchase be looking to upgrade my center channel to the CSi5 and DEFINETLY upgrade my sub to a SVS or a NHT or something......
So with that end picture in mind, what would be my best bet and sound the best with music... Thanks and sorry to be so long winded. Im just really new and know there is a lot of knowledge on this forum.
Oh yeah, would I put the Polk RTis in front and have the B&O BeoLab 6000s in back or the other way around.... I know the price tag on the Bangs are through the roof but that doesn't always mean everything......... I accumulated these from my girlfriend and the do sound good hooked to my computer (they are active towers their own power source), but I haven't really tested them yet.
I am going to Fry's to audition the RTis tomorrow as well.
