Default Has Anyone Heard This Amp Yet?

    I heard this integrated yesterday

    And listened to it on these three speakers;

    Consonance M15 Barque horn system

The Jaz are the 4th & 5th ones down.

JAS Audio Odin Floor Standing Speaker

    JAS Audio Plato speaker

Front end was the Raysonic CD 168 (it's blue not orange as pictured)

This integrated kicks absolute butt! I couldn't believe how much I loved the sound.

The owner is going to let me bring home the Raysonic next Saturday through Tuesday. This fellow is Stephen is an awesome guy to deal with.

Heard the Raysonic @ the Chicagoland PF. Neat looking piece. Sounded good but it just wasn't for me. YMMV.

Yeah Joe, that stuff was incredible. The whole Jaz line is just awesome. I was so taken back just on looks alone of that amp, but when Stephen fired that baby up playing thru the different Jaz & the Consonance Horn speakers I was speechless. I could have stayed in that room thru the night it was that good.

Excited about next Saturday when you get to take the Raysonic CD 168 player home!!! You're gonna have a blast with that.

Then the CJ/Krell preamp shoot out continues when I pick up the Krell amp from Stephen.

The two Jaz speakers sounded really great. I was blown away by the bass. I would have to get use to the Consonance speakers. The horn really accentuated the high mids and the high freq.

The picture doesn't do the CDP justice. I've seen it from $2549 to $3499.

I didn't get to hear the Orsus speakers.

It wasn't the 168 at Chicagofest; it was my 128. If that 168 actually sounds $1,000 better, it must be awesome.

One thing to watch out....the 128 takes a loooong time to break in and sound its best. Initially it sounded horrible. there are a few threads about this in the Audiogon forum.

That amp looks pretty interesting. I'm guessing it has the sound of the 300b tubes amplified by the other ones behind them. Thats a weird league for sure...

So Joe, are you still picking up the Raysonic tomorrow or is this being put off until the new year along with Phil's amp. I am interested in what you think of this player.

    Thanks,

    Hey Mike,

Yeah, Joe & I are heading back to Stephen's place to spend a few hours & pick up the Raysonic CD player. You gotta see Joe there, he's like a big kid in a candy store.

Stephen's place has 5 listening rooms & you really get caught up with such great gear & speakers to listen to. The hours just fly bye.

Hopefully I'll be able to pick up my amp next Saturday. Man, I get to spend another day at Stephen's...belated Christmas gift maybe!!

Yeah, he carries what has to be one of the largest variety of gear out there according to his website. With 5 rooms and all that gear who wouldn't be a kid in a candy store. He would be sweating bullets with all the gear swapping I'd have him do.

Plus I get wood from all the high performance vinyl he has availible. Everytime I leave there I spend around two hundred and have a pile of vinyl under my arm. He's got some very hard to get vinyl too.
