I use a Velodyne DLS-R 3750 and absolutely love it. Never tried the Polk but the Velodyne quality is really nice.
Velodyne all the way.
I HAVE the Velodyne DSP 12 - AWESOME sub. I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING!

since you have this sub what would you suggest i start with for settings?
tks. in advance
set it to the classical (flat/standard) mode and forget it. The other DSP settings are jokes. Welcome to Club Polk.
How would either sub compare to a $300ish entry Hsu (ie VTF), eD, or SVS sub?
most here would go with the HSU or SVS over Velodyne/anything else. I've heard neither, so I wouldn't know.
AVR: H/K AVR240
Fronts: Monitor 50s
Center: CSI3
surrounds: R15s
Sub:Velodyne DPS10
Dvd/Cd: Samsung HD upconverter (for now)
TV: 50" Sammy Plasma
game hardware: 360 and gcn.
Gamertag: kovster27
I just picked up this sub and so far it's pretty good. My question is which input should I use from the receiver to the sub? I have a single sub output(rca) from my receiver but my sub has two rca inputs for right and left, which makes no sense to me as its a sub. I guess if I use the RCA inputs I will have to pick up a single rca to double cable. Either way I am wondering if one is better sound quality over the other? the Speaker level input or the line input? thanks.
