Info on CS300?

I just scored a free:D CS300 from a colleague at work, said they just didn't want it anymore. I figure it's OK for my 12 year old son who is starting to build a system in his bedroom, more on that later. I currently own a CS245i and a CS400i. I tried to do a search here but couldn't find anything a on the CS300. Anybody got any info on it as to when it was sold, specs etc. TIA

Now on to my sons' system, he just purchased a Toshiba 26" LCD and a Sanus audio stand to put it on along with his Pio receiver and Sony DVD player. Right now the;

TV is on the top shelf,
DVD player on the 2nd shelf,
receiver on the 3rd shelf,
and DVD/CD's on the bottom shelf.

He plans to put the CS300 on the 2nd shelf below his DVD player. I don't know if the cabinet vibration of the 300 transmitted to the DVD player will cause any problems or if I should put something like DynoMat between the two. Any suggestions?

I have a CS400, 300 and 245i (I'm thinking of starting a collection!). The specifications on the 300 are as follows (from the manual).

I obviously prefer the 400 to this one. I think I also prefer the 245i, but it's a very good center IMO nonetheless. I also have some matching speakers, but I'm not using any of that setup at the moment.

On top of the CS300, not next to it.
That's why I'm a little concerned about the vibration and wanted to use some sort of thin vibration dampening product between the two.

Wow, that definitely would call for some isolation solution. You might go here for some ideas: www.audioadvisor.com.

Any chance you could add a smaller rack next to it. The Sanus stuff is pretty affordable and you might be adding more equipment later. Adding a shelf to the existing rack would probably make the TV too high, right?

At a minimum, go to Lowe's, Home Depot, or similar and look for foam-backed indoor/outdoor carpeting (the type used in some doormats). You want something about a quarter to a half inch thick and firm but not solid. The material they used to make some mouse pads out of would work so try Officemax or Office Depot also.

Mouse pads, Gez what an great idea! I have a few around the house, think I'll try it. Putting the TV up higher isn't an option - too high.
