Monitor 10C's - Parts List to redo the Caps and Resistors?

Hello All,

Tonight I bought a pair of Monitor 10C's from Face when he came over to my house. I also bought a pair of RD0194's from him.

I want to redo the crossovers but I haven't even opened them up yet. Does anybody have a list of parts needed to redo a pair of 10C crossovers with Sonicaps & Mills resistors?

Then I can just order them right away and when the parts come in I will take them apart.

Here's a JPG of I think what is a 10C crossover.

Can some of the Gurus please chime in and let me know how you would modernize this crossover.

I know that there are a couple of items that have been removed from the currently redone 1.2tl, 2.3TL, CRS+'s crossovers.

I don't understand electronics enough to be able to figure what I need to keep and what can be removed.

I think on my 1.2tl's the "mylars" were removed.

And the "Safety Guard" ?, I guess this is the poly switch?

Also, for the 34uF Cap that I need, Sonicaps do not come in 34uF, they have 30's & 4's, how do I connect these two?, in series or in parallel?

parallel. Also try to get 2 caps that are closer to each other like a 14, and a 20. I omitted one of the 12uf caps that parallel the 2ohm resistor. Also you don't have to use the 34uf. You can use a 33, or 36uf with no adverse effects.

I removed the bypass cap on my 10a xover as well. For some reason, I found it caused a rolloff in the upper band Fr. After removing, it seemed to open the highs alot. Maybe because of a bad cap, I still , to this day, do not know. But left it off.... Another reason I removed it, was because, after studying my 7's xover, I noticed no bypass cap was used for the Peerless in the 7's, so I mimicked the 7's as far as Peerless goes. I left the values the same, being I have 2 mw6503's instead of 1 mw6500. It seemed to work rather well.

Solens 33uF, 12uF and Mills resistors are working great for me.

I tried it with the cap included, and omitted. at lower volumes it made no difference, and at higher levels it sound less detailed, and slightly flat. After studying many of the schematics most of them use a 12uf in-line with the signal path, and a 2.5 to 2.7ohms resistor with a .4 inductor on the bypass to achieve the 12db roll off.

I agree with the Solen's for the 33uf, but would suggest sonicap for the single 12uf mod:)
