Default Check out My New SDA's

    Hello All,

I am the new Proud owner of a pair of Polk SDA 2C's

I will be picking them up on Monday or Tuesday Night and I will eventually redo the crossovers and upgrade them to use rdo198's.

I will post some pictures when I pick them up and bring them home.

I almost bid on those, now I'm glad I didn't, Larchmont is only about 1/2 hour away from me. I'm so happy with my TL upgrade I was thinking about building another pair, with no particular need for them. Congratulations!

The RD0198-1 tweeters I obviously got from Polk.

I got the Sonicaps, Mills resistors, Cardas binding posts, and Cardas solder from Sonic Craft.

I got the Erse inductor and the Monster terminators from Parts Express.

The Monster Z2 speaker cable I got from accessories4less

Congratulations! About a week earlier, I found a pair of SDA 2's about 40 minutes from me, in mint condition with the cable. The seller had his phone number listed and so I called him, asking if he would do a buy-it-now for $300.00. He agreed and I drove up the next night to pick them up. It was the coldest day of the year and my hands were nearly frostbitten after loading them into my car (one across the back seat and one leaning back in the passenger side front seat). Believe me, they're not exactly light. I got them home and got them up the stoop to my apartment. It's a good thing my downstairs neighbor was home (and in a good mood). He helped me carry them up the stairs to my second floor apartment. They're very nice but I am now trying to evaluate them against a pair of SDA CRS's that I have had since new (around 1988) and a pair of SDA 1's that I bought about a year ago.

    Mr Sal
I first would like to say congrats on the new system. I would also like to know what you are planning on as a system for hooking up these. Like CDP, amp, and PrePro.
    Again congrats.
    Ben
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Ben, My main plan was to fix them up, Crossovers, RD0198's, Cardas Posts, New grills if they need them and new IC cable. I was going to document the whole process, make a website and sell them to somebody with a bound book.

But if they look like Scott's Black ones, I will most likely keep them.

Mine are not the studio version. I painted the top and bottom caps black and put a mat clear on them. I think they look more up to date this way. Enjoy your new speakers. They sound great with the TL upgrade.

    Scott

PS. I paid $225 for mine @ 5 miles from my house.
