Default OK DVD gurus..yet another question...

What audio settings should I select on my Blu ray for the best 2-channel sound from digital coax output to my Benchmark DAC1. Would it be "PCM" and "Do not down convert" for example? Or Bitstream???

    DAC: Benchmark DAC/PRE
    Linestage: Placette Audio Passive
    Power Amp: Parasound HCA-1500A
    Speakers: Harbeth Compact 7ES-3 Monitor

You'd get the best sound by getting three more speakers :D

I could be wrong on this, but if you select PCM won't the DVD then be doing the DAC conversion? Does the "do not down convert" deal with whether or not 5.1 is converted to 2 channel inside the player?

I think bitstream is the way to go. But again, I could be wrong :)

Yes,this will ensure that the DAC is getting highest resolution data from the player.
