Any tips on how to set them up?

I'm going to be running a pair of Sunfire True subs. Not my first choice, but due to everything else in the room, I am pretty locked into small size and few options for location. For now I was just planning on splitting the LFE out and running a sub cable to each one.

Agreed. It makes a BIG difference.

The Velo SMS-1 is a godsend to the lower octaves and integration between the subs and mains. Dual subs sound great and with what I have experienced sound there best when placed in opposite sides of my room. When both subs are on one side the sound envelopes you but makes the side in which the subs are not located sound empty and lacking.

In addition, subs that have different sonic characteristics can also make the system sound better, provided both are adjustable. For instance if one digs lower than the other, set the volume slightly lower than the other as to not get the boom at the bottom but add that subtle needed frequency to complete the spectrum.

This is how my current setup is along with the SMS-1 and the sonics are quite nice to my ears. Placement with each sub is just as much key to the end result as the mains are and can make quite a change not only in frequency response in relation to the listening position, but to the sound stage as well.

question: if u connect both subs to lfe, dont u loose stereo subs efect ?
