Got it for $9.99 at Best Buy today. BB was priced at $17.99, they matched CC price of $14.99 and I had a $5.00 coupon from my Zoner Card. Plus, got the free Fox Demo DVD #2. Not bad at all.

I got it, and realized how retarded my last post must have sounded. It's not Pixar... and I misspelled 'dig.'

I must have been tired or something. Anyway I got it. Haven't seen it yet, looking forward to it. w00t.

after watching Ice Age twice now since Tues. i have to agree with others.. it's not one of the the better animated flicks.
the story and dialog is just so so. not enough low end sound for my tastes.
the story line reminds me to much of Shrek, which is a better movie.

    Thumbs up

Hey it's a kid movie. I watched 2-3 times on DVD in September while visiting China. It is a comical remaking of The Jungle Book. Too bad the Chineese release will not play here. It has a DTS sound track. Anyhow I got a copy yesterday and will enjoy it later.

both movies have similar plots to them. one big hairy animal who wants to be left alone. and one small animal who keeps tagging after him and won't leave him alone. to much the same story if you ask me.

shrek is funnier I thought. But John Leguzamo as Sid the sloth is very good.

I had Ice Age in my hand to buy this weekend (under $15 at Wallyworld). Haven't seen it and was just in the mood to spend money, so I put it down.

Do you consider it a kids' movie? It is rated PG. Of course, at first we didn't think Shrek was a kids' movie, but they watch it now. And my daughter loves The Princess Bride, and I'll bet that is PG also...

Picked up some of WalMart's $5 DVDs this weekend. We actually braved the streets Friday a.m. and went shopping. What I wanted was The Jerk - but didn't see it. Anyway, we picked up Creepshow, Loaded Weapon I, and Night Shift for $5 each. There were quite a few other movies there, just not stuff I wanted to own. Loaded Weapon is funnier than I remember - I love that "Police Squad" type of humor.

I found Ice-age to be an over-all decent movie. Great animation, but as someone above mentioned, the story line was very simular to shrek in some respects.

The Story line was also quite dry and fairly predictable along the whole way. Kids would most likely love the hell out of the thing... I actually enjoyed the movie, but dont believe I would watch it a second time.

Although - That friggen squirrel (is that what it is?) was my absolute favorite part of the movie. Im still laughin just thinking about it.

    Rock on Squirrel, rock on..

How come no one's mentioned MONSTERS INC, which is better flick than both SHREK and ICE AGE put together?

The best part of ICE AGE was the very Warner Bros way they had of falling and smacking into things. (See also THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE, lots of funny Warner Bros-type stuff.) But ICE AGE was a snooze fest.

MONSTERS INC is the best animated thing I've seen in years.

    I thought SKREK sucked.

Monsters INC was very good.. no doubt about that. Shrek was good. with Ice Age a distant third.

    Micah,

Monsters inc is good. So was the Lion King and Mulan. Ice Age was not a snooze fest. The nut chasing rodent provided lots of comic releef and was a riot. As for Shrek, you either like the music or you don't.

Is MI the best one of the three? Sure. Are the others bad? No way.

I did not go for Monster Inc. The illustration was good, but the story line and over-all plot just bored me. In fact, I was incredibly disappointed with it. Never once was I suprised and very rarely did I crack a smile.

Ice-Age was alright, I enjoyed it.... but dont wish to watch it again. That squirrel kicked ass though.......

I thought Ice Age was a great flick and I took my son to see it in the movie theater but the DVD is just plain awesome. I have seen it three times in like two days and it still makes me laugh everytime I see it.
I think Denis Leary did a fabulous job as Diego the sabre. When he did "Where's the Baby?" I almost fell on the floor. I give that movie two thumbs up.

And yes I agree Monsters Inc. and Shrek were really great movies but I wouldn't say one is better than the other they are all fun to watch with the kids.
