Default what happened to the cable swap?

I heard about it but it was cancelled before i joined. I think it would be cool to try other cables out and would also like to let others try out whay i'm using as well. Was there too many cables going "Missing"?

I have a half meter set of Audio Art IC 3 interconnects that i could get along without for awhile if anyone would like to try them out. I have only had really cheap ic's before so i have had nothing decent to compare them to. I would be interested to see how they stack up against some of the others.

If anyone who can give a good comparitive review is interested in trying them out...let me know.

It was a very cool way to test out some cables. You can research all the posts about this topic. I would like to see it happen again. I don't know what happened. It just ended I think

Nothing [as far as I know] is stopping anyone from organizing another one. Whoever does, I would advise talking with some senior members that were heading the old cable swap to see what worked and what didn't.

I'm quite sure someone will chime in if this is a bad idea. Personally, I'd be willing to be involved in another CS as I wasn't a member during the first one.

I'd be game for that. Some problems that may pop up though is if people don't package them well, you might get your cables back alittle banged up or even broken.

tell you what if someone will take charge, I will join. I have some cables I could send out for people to try.

THat's just the thing....how does someone take charge of something like that....and who.... I don't know if it would take off like it was before but i just thought that someone might be interested in trying these out as i haven't seen too many people using Audio Art on here yet.

I too would be concerned about my cables showing up banged up so maybe something like this might not work. Maybe a little smaller scale like a couple guys trading cables for a couple weeks or something at a time. Who knows...i was just curious.

be sure any cables you loan out for a cable swap.. are ones that you could stand to have exchange many hands and get some serious beating.... so don't send out your best cables if you know what I mean. if you have spares that would be the best thing.

In the last go round...seems someone just never could remember to send the cables in their posession on to the next person. (never did actually) Also, the cables were generally donated by one of the dealers/mfgs. as a marketing promo. The cost of some of these cables were such that an individual would be unlikely to put them in the pool. It's a good idea...but you can't do it half-ass or it falls apart. It is a lot of work for someone to gather up the cables and keep track of it. It can get old quickly.

I can imagine it could go to pot pretty quickly without people being dedicated about it. Guess it's no good too bad.

I think the whole idea was nice, but yes I believe it became a lot or work it keep up. I liked it myself and became a believer of copper wasn't copper quickly, I became an AudioQuest fan with the Diamond Back Interconnects and quickly brought a pair for myself. As I missed that sound very quickly sending them to the next person in line.

It was a lot of work - Mark spent a LOT of hours keeping it organized - it just sort of ran it's course. If someone was to start up another program, and was committed to maintain it, you'd have my full support (and Mark's as well I assume) on 'how it's done' - or at least how it was done in the past.

I started one on AK, and I just flat out couldn't keep up with it, and dedicate the time to keep it properly maintained and moving forward.

    Cheers,
