Default AVR question with my setup

This is my first post but I have been reading the forums a lot lately.
I have searched the forums and can't find an exact answer.

    Setup:
    RTi10 Fronts (being delivered)
    CSi3 Center (being delivered)
TC65i Surround (already installed and sound great)
Sony Sub (plan to replace very soon but will do for the moment)
Sony STR-DE575 Receiver (plan to replace very soon but all I have at the moment so bear with me)

I plan to replace my receiver soon but for now I need advice with current setup. My receiver has 100wpc @ 8ohms (5.1 system). After reading several posts online, I have noticed that the RTi10s seem to run at 4ohms if you use the gold brackets supplied (I will not be bi-amping or anything of the sort). Is this true, because I know the "nominal" rating stated by Polk is 8 ohms? I could talk about my future plans for amps but that's a different topic.

That being said, I need to get as much info as possible because I plan to hook everything up this coming weekend but I want to know more before I start causing damage to components (speakers and avrs). Basically, the avr is pretty old but still performs well. If I hook up these RTi10s to the front left and right terminals, respectively, will it have a 4 ohm load or an 8 ohm load? I don't want to blow my avr before I can replace it with a better setup so I want to make sure that its only using an 8 ohm average load instead of 4 ohms. I just want to be able to hook up my speakers without having any issues so any help is appreciated.

I'm sure this topic has been beaten on the forums but I couldn't find a precise answer searching around. I hate to ask dumb questions but hopefully I can get a few responses.

    Thanks in advance!

I would trust the manufacturers rating of 8 ohms. Not 100% sure on this one, but why would polk supply a rating of 8 ohms if it wasn’t true? They would have alot of mad people from blown receivers.

Welcome to Club Polk Scharbj & Imperitor.

All of your speakers are 8ohms Scharbj. So your Sony will run them just fine until you upgrade.

Make sure you get a receiver that has preamp outputs so that you can separate external amplification later on down the line so that your speakers will operate to their full potential.

These receivers generally cost more money because of that & other features.

Thank you for the responses. That eases my concerns.

I plan to get a good AVR/Pre-Pro and separate amps to boot.
    Thanks again for the help.
