Going to download for free first.

Which version I buy will depend on how much I like it.

I wish more artists would do this.

Winzip and WinRAR are both giving me errors, saying it's not a valid file.

NIN webpage is still crapping out (notice that the file you're getting is way too small). Hit up bittorrent. Reznor uploaded the first 9 songs himself & posted a message on his webpage saying "Go for it" if you can find the rest out there.

Just a FYI, it seems everyone was having trouble with this yesterday including myself. I just got it to work first try, I assume because there aren't many on this early.

Default New NIN CD - Ghost I - Download for FREE

Nine Inch Nails: Ghosts I (2008)

    Hello from Nine Inch Nails.

We\\\'re very proud to present a new collection of instrumental music, Ghosts I-IV. Almost two hours of music recorded over an intense ten week period last fall, Ghosts I-IV sprawls Nine Inch Nails across a variety of new terrain.

Now that we\\\'re no longer constrained by a record label, we\\\'ve decided to personally upload Ghosts I, the first of the four volumes, to various torrent sites, because we believe BitTorrent is a revolutionary digital distribution method, and we believe in finding ways to utilize new technologies instead of fighting them.

We encourage you to share the music of Ghosts I with your friends, post it on your website, play it on your podcast, use it for video projects, etc. It\\\'s licensed for all non-commercial use under Creative Commons.

We\\\'ve also made a 40 page PDF book to accompany the album. If you\\\'d like to download it for free, visit http://ghosts.nin.com/main/pdf

Ghosts I is the first part of the 36 track collection Ghosts I-IV. Undoubtedly you\\\'ll be able to find the complete collection on the same torrent network you found this file, but if you\\\'re interested in the release, we encourage you to check it out at ghosts.nin.com, where the complete Ghosts I-IV is available directly from us in a variety of DRM-free digital formats, including FLAC lossless, for only $5. You can also order it on CD, or as a deluxe package with multitrack audio files, high definition audio on Blu-ray disc, and a large hard-bound book.

We genuinely appreciate your support, and hope you enjoy the new music. Thanks for listening.

Very cool. I like their approach and whether or not it works to their advantage financially but it has won my vote as a customer. I usually go the route of testing out a cd before I buy through a download and this makes it very easy.

The 320kb MP3's don't sound bad. I'm going to give it a little more listening before I decide to buy the lossless version.

I would definitely say it's "different". After listening to it a few times, I would say some tracks sound great, and others are just plain terrible.

I never listened to any of their music before. Is this representative or something experimental?

It's pretty different from their usual stuff. No vocals was a bit of a surprise. Check out their other songs on youtube for a taste of the normal NIN style.

I think some of there best songs on previous albums were the instrumental ones, looking forward to this album.

Im digging it. I think the first and second track's are great but there are a couple im not crazy about.

Apc I would say most of their stuff is experimental in a sense. Trent Reznor has a genius like ability to twist odd sounds and elements into his music. I would advise listening to some of his work on Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral to get an idea. I've been a fan since the early 90's and havent felt let down yet.

I'd also like to point out that from day one he has created all of his music solo for the most part. He puts together a band for live shows and whatnot, but as far as creation and studio, its all him.
