    Default Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Just finished the traditional (for us anyway) corned beef and cabbage, carrots and taters......and beer. Anybody else use horsey sauce on your corned beef? Yummy...problem is you've always got a little extra sauce so you grab another piece of meat and then you run short of sauce so you squeeze some more and then you have too much again so you have to have more meat. It's a vicious cycle. :(

I avoid this holiday like the plague. I'm not Irish; they don't have "food" that is at all appetizing; and drinking is great but drinking on "amateur night" holidays is usually way worse than it sounds on paper. Anyone who's out tonight be very weary on the roads. I drove home from work at 7PM and already it seemed like everyone was driving tanked.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

What a night to go food shopping. I almost smashed into this little civic that pulled in front of me while I was doing 50.

There is no such thing as too much horseradish.

I'm not Irish but I have friends who are. I am however Polish and I'll take a piece of kielbasa and dunk it right in the horseradish like it was chips and dip and go to town! Makes peoples' eyes water just watching it.

And yes, had all the traditional stuff at my friend's house, brought home like a pound of left over corned beef and half a tray of stuffed cabbage and I've already made a corned beef sammich with some rye bread, swiss cheese, hot brown mustard and a hefty helping of horseradish and toasted the whole thing and grabbed a stuffed cabbage and some potato chips with a beer.

I'm gonna be fun at work tomorrow!

There's a big conference of beer producers. At the end of the day, all of the presidents of all beer companies decide to have a drink in a bar.
The president of 'Budweiser' orders a Bud, the president of 'Miller' orders a Miller Lite, Adolph Coors orders a Coors, and the list goes on.
Then the waitress asks Arthur Guinness what he wants to drink, and much to everybody's amazement, Mr. Guinness orders a Coke!
"Why don't you order a Guinness?" his colleagues ask.
"Naah..... If you guys aren't drinking beer, then neither will I."

I listened to a Chieftains CD, then a Loreena McKennitt CD, drank a Killian's and called it a night! The cafeteria at work tried to make corned beef, but somewhere along the line the recipe must not have translated well into spanish and it came out oh-so-wrong :(
