Help With RM6750

To fellow Polkites/Polkoholics...etc, I have ordered for Yamaha RXV663 which is an International Version and has a output as per the user manual Minimum RMS Output Power for Front, Center, Surround, Surround back 20 Hz to 20 kHz, 0.06% THD, 8 Ω 95 W and IEC Output Power Front L/R, 1 kHz, 0.06% THD, 8 Ω 105 W, i will be using only 5.1 even though the AVR is a 7.1 CH, after 6 months will be using R50 for the Front channels and 6750 for surround and surround back.
I have ordered the Polk RM6750 yesterday Will this Model be able to handle this Receiver as in RMS and Peak power compatibility, etc Please reply.
Thanks in advance for all valuable answers, is anybody using this Speaker System with AV Receive with more powerful than the RXV663....help
(PS:Mr.Ken was greatly helpful in answering yes for this question still have doube since the guys from Frys while ordering told me these speakers may get damaged easily by Yams power output please help.:)

Hello Jacob,
Welcome to Polk's very nice Forum, pull up a chair and have some fun. From your description there doesn't seem to be any reason your Yamaha and those RM6750 speakers shouldn't get along fine. The key to using any small satellite speaker system with a subwoofer is to get good blending between the two. The woofer needs to play higher, in pitch, than it would with a bigger speaker. The easiest way to do that is to follow Polk's rather unorthodox connection instructions. Rather than use the subout, of the receiver, just place another left right pair of speaker wires in the receiver's front right and left connections and take this to the sub and connect to right and left speaker in. Then adjust the frequency knob to 120 or 150Hz depending upon whether or not you've got your front speakers mounted on the wall or not. Then connect the center and surrounds to the receiver as usual. This simple connection method eliminates any mismatching with the woofer, prevents a gap between the two parts.

Thanks a lot Jed my worry is the power handling capability of the small ones will it take the load from this Receiver. Anybody in the forum using similar powered systems please reply with performance of the speakers and any mishaps.

Jacob, welcome to the club. I don't think that you would have to worry about the speakers unless you like to really crank up the volume. I ran the RM6005 on a yamaha rx-v595 and yamaha rx-v995. I was seriously disappointed in the sound and got rid of both the speakers and receivers. The 6005 is the little brother of the 6750. It depends on room size among other things. I have since changes systems for ****s and giggles - the 6750 is a nice set-up if you're not tryinh to fill a large room. But, I can just about guarantee that you will get the upgrade bug sooner rather than later - we ALL do!!!!!:)

RXV 995 for the past 3 years amazing stuff currently my brother is using it,
i was trying to order RM6750 from outpost, some issues on all the 3 times and got fed up was checking on the net for some deals and got a great deal (i believe) for RM6800 for $370 with free shipping from Amazon (Electronic Express) both of whom are authorized dealers for polk. All i have received the POLK RM6800 Yesterday evening, my hands are itching to set the entire system by next week, working on the weekend on important project. will post the performance once i set it up.:D
