23 August 1968 - Jimi Hendrix (Janis Joplin, The Chambers Bros. and The Soft Machine were warm-up bands)

The Stones at Madison Square Garden ("The Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" album)

    Now in no particular order:

    The Band
    The Mahavishnu orchestra
    Billy Cobham
Larry Coryell & The Eleventh House
    Stanley Turrentine
    Milt Jackson
    Bobbi Humphrey
    Wilbert Harrison
Bonnie & Delaney & Friends (Clapton)
    CCR
    The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation
    Flo & Eddie
Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band (several times)
    Hot Tuna (they sucked)
The Bob Seger "System" (Tried to warm up for Zappa, and got booed off the stage)
The Persuasions (Warmed up for Zappa and got called back for a few encores)
    The Buddy Rich Big Band
Frank Zappa & The Mothers every time they came within 50 miles of Brooklyn from about 1968 to 1974 or so.

I went to a lot of shows, but man it was just so long ago a lot of them aren't in the banks anymore.

    Mountain
    Buddy Guy
The Ronettes at the Bay Shore Roller Rink!

In just the last few years I have seen a bunch. But I will try to remember as many as I can.

Like Sal I have seen some heavy bands.

    GWAR at least 10 times.
    Nuclear Assault x 3
    Overkill
    Exodus
    Flotsam and Jetsom
    Iron Maiden x 4
    Slayer x 3
    Metallica w/Guns & Roses
    Ratt
    King Diamond
Styx Awesome in concert. Mixed feelings going in but they rocked.
Kansas they opened for Heart. Weird mix.
REO Speedwagon Much more rockin in person.
Heart the show was good but way to short.
Jethro Tull The didn't play bungle in the jungle. What is up with that.
Pink Floyd saw them during the pulse tour.
Pearl Jam x 2. These guys are awesome. Eddie gets political is the only downer.
Counting Crows before they were a big hit.
    The Black Crows
Big and Rich x 2 they are a fun show.
    Sara Evans x 3 She's Hot.
Brad Paisley x 2 funny guy and show. Great guitar work
Rush x 2 Neil is an awesome drummer.
Toby Keith x 2 He is good in concert. Wife loves him.
Alan Jackson I always liked his songs
Steppenwolf Last year. they sounded good.
Huey Lewis and the News. Wife had an extra ticket. Fun but not a fovorite.
Crosby Stills & Nash. Who doesn't like there songs.
Moody Blues x 2 they still sound great.
The Who. Of course without John and Keith. They were awesome anyway.
OZZY, x 4 Come on its OZZY
    Pantera
    Megadeth
    Mudvayne
    Slipknot
    Tool x 2
Primus with Rush once. Les is a madman on the bass.

There are more but the bong resin is getting in the way. cough cough.

The list has gotten too long...

I'm old and have seen too many and still go to as often as possible. GF has clients that own venues like The Fox, Masquerade, Tabernacle, Center Stage......we get VIP and all that crap. Hell I saw Rush when they were on thier first album. Opened for Mott The Hoople, who opened for 38 Special, who opened for Blue Oyster Cult way back in the mid 70's.

Latest was Twiztid...son's 16th birthday. Yeah...I was down in the mosh pit for a little while.

    Default My Concerts

Way cool thread hearing some of the concerts other forumites have been to. Some great names in there. No one saw the Doors, eh? That would have been a good one. I can lay claim to an Elvis concert - didn't see anyone mention that. Also Van Halen a few times always GREAT. And a Stones concert with 10th row seats - way cool. Only a few others for me. Some of you have just been to some great ones. Seeing the names of some of those bands brought back some memories. Chris
