    Default Plats in the house

I hope that I'm posting in the correct area,,anyway,,I happened upon a pair of Carver Plats,,original owner,,sales receipt, paperwork etc. I have them temporarily set up in the bedroom, until I can move the other pair of amazings. These are about as mint as I have ever found,,one small ding, right now I'm powering them with adcom 565's and a Melos pre,,just thought that I'd share some pics. How do they sound,,compared to the originals,,maybe a tad more open and airy in the top end,,to my old ears anyway,,they certainly are not fatiguing,,I could listen to these puppies all day. I love simple things,,Left and Right. Thanks all--george :)

Wow George the pics look great! Plat's, and 565's. I don't know how the high end Adcom's play with ribbons, but someday I sure would like to find out.
Dude seriously I have goose bumps.
    Nice

Welcome to Club Plat George. I promise you won't be sorry. I listen to mine for hours, from whisper quiet to bowing out the patio doors and have never experienced listening fatigue. Looks like you got a beautiful set. Some think they are ugly, but I think they are works of art. I just wish I had a huge listening room to show 'em off. I'm one that feels the 60" ribbon smokes the original's two 30". Let us know what you think after listening for a few days.

Nope,, but you could have driven over and helped me bring em in and set em up;) There is a "story" within that statement,, I'll share it with you the next time we talk.Just picture an old man, standing guard over a speaker, wrapped in blankets/padding in front of his abode, blocking the advance of dogs, cats, kids, kids on bikes, kids on scooters, that approach the "neutral" zone . :D

I'd be willing to wager that all wives of Plat owners think we have completely lost our minds. The normal statement when you get them home is "Where the hell do you think you're going to put those monstrosities?"

I wonder if those Originals are getting tired of seeing the ass end of a pair of Plats??? Deja vu for sure. You should try the Dodd on those babies.
