    Default eD Subwoofers

I'm considering purchasing an eD A3-300 or A5-350 subwoofer to replace my Polk PSW404. From what I've read, they are excellent HT subs. My question is, how musical are they? In this price range ($500 - $700), are there any other comparable subs to consider?

I have a A5-300, it's definitely not a "one note" subwoofer. Crossed with my mains at 80 hz, it can seamlessly integrate with my mains. As long as you're going to cross it at a low frequency as 60-80 hz, I would recommened it. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Haven't heard an eD sub. I should get an audition shortly from a guy getting an A7S-450 out here. From those I know that have bought them, they are all impressed. The big A7-450 and A7-900 are supposed to sound better than the sum of their parts...huge, but wonderful bargains. The cabinets are well designed, though a little rough. The drivers are excellent. I'm not sure if this is a drawback or not, but the amps, I believe are stock with no custom built in EQ curves like some of their competitors. Extention is acheived through box tuning. At it's pricepoint, the A3, Hsu 2.3 and the Outlaw would compete. The A5, Epik Knight and MFW 15 also stack up together. I'd probably go with the Knight...less wait.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

Yea, i dont know much about ED subs, but after reading reviews of the A3-300, i think im going to pick up an ED sub instead of a velodyne (which i was going to get) After reading reviews it seems like ed subs are really really good and really well liked...the only complaints i've read are

    - "I live on the 2nd or 3rd floor and it weight 86 lbs....."

    - "The wife tells me to turn it down"

Thats all the complaints i saw about A3-300...so with that being said, i know what im getting probably next pay.

Mathwizard - I was searching through some old posts and noticed that you had a RM302 center and upgrdaed - do you still have the 302 and would you be interested in selling? Sorry not to contact you through PM but since I don't have 10 posts I cannot.
