I am rebuilding my system after fire damage. On craigslist I can get either the r15's for 70 or the r50's for 100. What do you think? The r 50's take up a lot of space. What would you recommand for my center channel?

I had to give my old center to my brother to complete his r-system. Oh yeah I have 4 r-15 but the other 2 are a little knocked up.
But to answer your question, get the 50's and then I can cover everything else....also look into a cs1 center they are at a all time low.

I don't know anything about them, but if they are what you're looking for....I think Fry's website still has the R50s in cherry for $59/ea new.
Sorry about your loss.
Fry's also has R150's for $50 per pair. FWIW;)
What is the difference bewteen the r150 and the r15?

Right now I'm using r50's for rears (they were cheaper than bookshelfs) with no complaints. I had four r50's at one time, two in front, two in back, and a CS2 in the center. They were all very well matched. I think you can get a CS2 off Amazon for about $160 these days.
For surrounds, I'd select the R15s and mount them to a wall.
