    Default Bass trap

I picked up a couple of Auralex LENRD bass traps to place in the corner of my room. This is my first stab at room treatment. I have an odd shaped listening room with half of it covered with carpet (the main listening area), the other with marble kitchen floor. The dimensions are 14 x 27 x 8.5 with two large openings into a room twice that size with cathedral ceilings. Very difficult room to pressurize.

Is it a good idea to place the LENRD in all corners of the room, both ceiling and floor, or are there specific locations that should be addressed first? Also, what good, cheap adhesive should I use to mount them to the wall?

Before you glue them up, I'd try them in different locations first. I have an L shaped room about the same size as yours and I have a trap in each front corner on the floor. I need some additional trapping which will go on the ceiling corners in the front also. I think trying them in different corners will give an idea of where you need more or less.

I think that bass traps would work better in the water, preferably in water with bass in it. I don't imagine them working too well glued to the wall in the corner of a room.

Personally, I've never used a bass trap. Just minnow traps. But hey, if that's what floats yer boat, have a blast!

Foam type traps won't make a big difference.

I use 40" tall x 15" columns full of fiberglass placed in the corners behind my speakers. It helped clean up bass response, everything is tighter and less boomy. I'd like to get a set for the rear corners of my room next.

well if they work better than the LENRD I'd give it a shot, especially since they're a lot cheaper too :D

I have my sub sandwiched in the rear corner between the rear wall and the couch so should the rear corners be basstrapped too?

Every corner is a potential spot for a trap. Trapping is cumulative, the more you have the better. Visit RealTraps.com for some very good pointers.
