Question HD audio formats...any out there?

I've been looking at AVR's, and noticed the higher end ones have Dolby & DTS HD capable features, so...What's out there that's been recorded in these formats- just HD/BD dvd's?
I wasn't planning on upgrading the dvdp just yet, but would like to get an avr with the HD features for the future. For music dvd's really, not movies
    Thanks

    Only HD-DVDs and Blu-rays.

I know most HD-DVDs lack any type of lossless audio track, a few had TrueHD tracks but most only had DD+. That's the main reason I gave up on HD-DVD, before it died. Most all Blu-rays have a lossless track of some kind; UPCM, TrueHD or DTSMA-HD.

Thanks Ron. I was gonna upgrade , but not now. IF these formats were going to be widespread in the future I would,, but, I got a feeling something else will come along to make it obsolete

That's hard to say but it's also the nature of this hobby. But, the consumer cannot take too much change too fast or that "something else that comes along will fail". Blu-ray will take long enough to get into the average Joe's house so I believe it will be here for quite a long while.

Like I said, almost every Blu-ray title has a lossless audio track so it's very worth the upgrade. Blu-ray at this point is very widespread, now it just needs to pick up speed and once the prices on players drop we'll most likely see a surge in it's growth.
