I bought a used SR7500 recently to run in a system that wouldn't be used much. For some reason, I always find myself listnening to music whenever I go into that room. It's pure bliss with music and is great with HT.

I also auditioned some of the newer Marantz's and they seem to be worth every penny. The specs may not look as gaudy as some other manufacturers (I'm talking to you, Onkyo) but they will without a doubt kill every receiver in a comparable price range. I have heard the Marantz dealers talk about how the SR8002 sounded better than the Denon 4308 and 5308. But the best advice is to try one. If you value music, I'll be willing to bet you'll like it. That used Marantz is one of my favorite pieces I've ever owned or heard (for the price).

    Go for it!

I also like the Marantz sound and they sound VERY good for the money.

It's worth every penny. I love both of the Marantz AVR's I have and will definitely buy this when it comes out to upgrade my 8001. I can use my bad ass two zone 8001 downstairs.

Another + for Marantz. Owned a receiver and CDP years ago. Loved them and you will have no regrets.
