    Default Battlefield: Bad Company

I just downloaded the demo a couple days ago on Xbox Live and holy crap i have been having TONS of fun. If you haven't downloaded the demo i would suggest you give it a whirl. The Frostbite engine that its using makes environments completely destructible. I was playing last night with a couple friends and i got trapped in a building with a tank watching the front door trying to kill me. No sweat, i just toss a grenade against the back wall and blow a hole through it and i go out the back.

I am looking forward to get one (June 25th). Tried to download the demo yesterday, but only available to Gold members.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I enjoyed the demo... but it is awfully hard to see the enemy compared to other FPS games. I found myself getting shot and not having a clue where it was coming from half the time. Perhaps if they had used a little bit of rim lighting to separate character models from the environment (a la Call Of Duty 4), it would have been easier to see people. I'm playing on a 100" screen with a Sanyo PLV-Z2000 projector in 1080p... You'd think I wouldn't have a problem!

The multiplayer fares a little better because of the icons that pop up over people's heads. I love the destructability of the levels, but it definitely throws off your instincts a bit. I'd run into buildings thinking I was safe... then a tank would blow the freakin' wall out. PRETTY COOL!

me too. I like the destructible enviroments, but the gameplay just seemed "off" to me, coming from playing COD4.

I'm not totally blown away by BF:BC but as a diehard BF fan (I have 1942, Vietnam, BF2 (all expansions) I had to get this. 2142 was dreadful, but I'm holding out against all odds that destructible environments come to PC soon.

well, having giving some time into the game...both single and mutli player gaming...I like the game alot. the new destructuble inviroment is great because it adds realism. You take cover from a tank, just to find the wall a few shots later has been knocked down and you are scrabbling to find cover. Or you are driving a tank, and plow down some trees to take a short cut ......graphics are great, single player is fun and funny. one part I liked where Haggard runs accross the border sounding like a hillbilly " there's gold in them thar hills" while running like an idiot...

Official statements from Dice and EA state that BF2142 was the last PC based Battlefield game. Don't know why; I've always enjoyed PC shooters much more than console based shooters.

Been playing for a while today; great game; graphics are wonderful as is the destructible terrain; still getting used to console shooting controls though.

Its weird, I won't say that COD4 is the best shooter I've ever played, but ever since playing it, I don't like other FPSs nearly as much. Halo 3 is downright unplayable now, and BF:BC is no exception. I'm sure I'd like it more had I not played COD4.

I find the controls kind of loose, while COD4 is alot tighter and more responsive. Ive only played the demo of BF so perhaps playing through the retail version it gets better but I dont think I will pick up a copy until it reaches the bargin bin ... the demo was indeed fun though. The demo online became unbearable with so many moronic team mates who had no clue what they were doing, coming off from playing months of Halo or COD4, so I stopped playing the demo.
