Default Poll!! JBL SUB12 vs. Bic H-100 vs. Polk PSW505?!

I've been trying to decide between these four subs for a while now!! I want something with a LFE input. The specs on the JBL 12 seem the most attractive. I haven't been able to audition any of these subs....does anyone know if a local DC/MD/VA area that carries these?

I've included a blurb on these four if anyone is interested in more details:

    JBL 12:
Designed to meet JBL's stringent audio standards, the Venue Series SUB12 subwoofer uses premium technology to let your home-theater system deliver those pulsing lower frequencies with maximum sound quality. With a frequency response of 25 Hz and a variable low-pass frequency of 50 to 150 Hz all backed up by a powerful amplifier and assisted by a FreeFlow flared port, the SUB12 gives you low notes loud, clear, and distortion-free. The amplifier power is 300 watts, with a peak dynamic power of 500 watts.
The 12-inch woofer is constructed from JBL's proven PolyPlas material and housed in a 19.75 x 14.375 x 18 inch case, making it compact enough to position easily in your home theater. The SUB12 comes with LFE- and line-level inputs to give you connection flexibility, and crossover-frequency controls and a phase switch let you adjust the SUB12's output to suit your audio needs.

    H-100:
Listeners who want to treat themselves to the best in home theater sound need look no further than the Acoustech H-100 front-firing subwoofer, which reproduces powerful, room-filling bass. Featuring 150 watts of continuous power output (500 watts peak) and a 12-inch, front-firing, long-throw woofer, the H-100 makes movies sound explosive and gives music a deep, full-bodied appeal--all without causing unwanted boominess or distortion. The subwoofer delivers a wide frequency response of 24 to 200 Hz, along with a max acoustic output of 115 dB SPL (sound pressure level). It performs particularly well when teamed with Acoustech's other home theater speakers, which are customized to match the subwoofer's output.

    Polk 505
POLK PSW505 - This high quality powered subwoofer makes opens a whole new dimension of thrilling low end sound for audio and home theater systems alike. This versatile, clinically accurate beast handles bombs and bullets and delicate string sections with equal finesse. Hi-Roll Surrounds to support longer excursion High current 300 Watt Continuous (460 Watt Dynamic) power amplifier Frequency Range - 23 Hz - 160Hz Adjustable low pass crossover, phase switchand volume control for perfect blending with any main speakers Auto On / Off circuit Unfiltered LFE input Magnetically shielded Auto on/off circuit that automatically turns your subwoofer on when it senses a program signal. When no signal is present, the amplifier turns off within 15 minutes Dimensions - 16-1/8H x 15-1/8W x 18-3/16D Weighs 56 pounds Warranty - 5 Years P&L Speaker; 3 Years P&L Amplifier Subwoofer cable required; not included

    Velodyne DPS12

Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is at the heart of the Digital Power Slot (DPS) Series subwoofers providing less distortion, customized listening modes and the most output possible. All signal processing of this advanced, yet affordable subwoofer is managed digitally, and is controlled with a single touch of a button using the unique front touch-panel. Located on the panel are four convenient presets for Movies, R&B-Rock, Jazz-Classical and Games, as well as volume control and an exclusive Night Mode setting. The top panel of this incredibly elegant-looking subwoofer has 15 coats of high-glass, hand-buffed, black lacquer. The DPS Series consists of the DPS-10 with a 10" forward firing driver (8.2" piston diameter) and the DPS-12 with a 12" forward firing driver (9.9" piston diameter). The DPS Series subs easily outperform other subwoofers in their class in both quality and quantity of bass reproduction.

I don't think you could go wrong with the Velodyne or the Polk.

Although I didn't vote in the poll, I purchased the JBL Sub 12 online (JR I think) a few months ago. Got it for cheep new, and the shipping was cheep too (might have been free in fact). In any case, I was looking for a cheep sub to complement my R20s for occasional 2 channel duty in the bedroom.

I am pleased with it. It is by no stretch a high end sub, but for the money its not bad. If compared to the Velodyne SPL 1200 series II (OK not a fair comparison, but the only one I can make since I own both), it is not as tight, nor as powerful. Front firing, ported downward, and all the necessary connections and tuning tools you need on the back plate. Worth the money.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Ive only heard the JBL and the Polk and I have yet to hear a JBL sub that sounds even decent for half of the cost they think they can get out of them. My mother has the 505 with a surround bar and I'm very happy with the sound quality.

ya i would go with either the velodyne or the polk. JBL just isnt what it use to be. their new speakers are a poor design, compared to what they use to sale.

and what the hell is BIC that cheap subwoofer they sell on amazon ?
