Vist our Online StoreAll I can picture, is that scene in 'Ghostbusters' when the guy powers down their grid. "Oh ****!"
I hope these clowns aren't about to start break dancing in a minefield!
Don't want to see some antimatter cloud wafting thru the stmosphere disintegrating, on a MOLECULAR level, everything in it's path!
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

So after you give your soul to God you can bend over and
KISS YOUR A$$ GOODBYE!!!:D:D:D
Another BAD thought: What if these 'scientists' are actually members of a WORLDWIDE doomsday cult? And they just want to take us all HOME?!

Sh*t!etwigs may have been right all along. And I feel fine. ;)
I remember when they were thinking about building this in Colorado. If I remember correctly it was in the mid-80's. But funding for the project never got off the ground.
There's a special about this thing on the Science Channel right now
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
There were scientists in 1945 that thought the first atomic bomb test might set the atmosphere on fire.
But then again, they might be right this time.![]()
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.
Cool science will always proceed, as long as the danger doesn't appear _really_ likely. As mentioned, no one was sure the Trinity test wouldn't incinerate the planet, but it was kinda a longshot so away they went.
I'm hoping we're not all torn apart in a black hole. My hifi isn't complete yet.
I tried watching the special. The 1st 10 minutes or so was alright, but then they started getting into all the theories! WOW! What they're trying to do is re-create the 'Big Bang', which, makes me a LITTLE nervous!
We all know how most artists feel about COPYRIGHT infringement!
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
There's won't be any weird events happening.
There are particles from outer space that smash into the atmosphere with millions of times more energy than this machine is capable of, and still no black holes have swallowed the earth.
If anything, the entire project will be a huge dissapointment if the Higgs Boson is not found.
From watching the show it sounds as if it might be more interesting if the Higgs Boson *isn't* found, because it'd prove they are missing some very important principles and it'd get people to rethink the way it all works. It's all way over my head, but I find it all fascinating and it was a good special to watch.

This just makes me laugh...
ready to reveal how the tiniest particles were first created after the "big bang," which many theorize was the massive explosion that formed the stars, planets and everything.

I thought it was in Waxahachie, Texas. They had funding, then pulled the plug. And no way can anyone say that Lucerne or CERN sounds more like an atom-smasher than Waxahachie-BOOM! :D
Gawd, I love that name. That sounds like the Apache word for End of the World. Okay, I'm weird.

I think this is pretty damn cool myself. The people running this thing are the among the smartest people in the world and I doubt they wouldve spent 3 billion dollars on something that would destroy the world and all life on it! Im all for learning as much as we can about the universe.
