    8diagrams,

    Nice find and welcome.

I think the stands are very hard to find. A lot of people make their own.

    Thanks for the welcome Captain100.

I think I'll try making my own stands. Most likely I'll just paint them black to match the grills. Trying to match the wood texture and/or stain might be a little difficult.

I do like these Polks. Listened to "Dark Side if the Moon" today and was really impressed. I own a pair of Infinity RS-II and a pair of Paradigm Monitor 11 v.2 and even though these speakers are smaller, they trully shine and add a next dimension and choice to my listen room. I have to say I really wanted a some SDA speakers, but for the price, I am more than happy with these gems.

First welcome to Club Polk, and good find on the Polk's. I was a hard core fan of Infinity's till I bought some monitors, then SDA's, then RTA15TL', then built some SDA-SRS's then built the largest set of SDA's that I know off. Now that I think about it get out while you still can!

Well, I just convinced someone to sell me their stnads, but not the speakers. So, now I have the perfect set-up for the Monitor 7C. I'll give them a full run through this weekend. I'm really curious with the right set-up if they can give my Infiniy RS-II a run for their money?

Nice find on the 7c's and welcome to club polk.

Do the stands tilt back about 5 degrees? If so, they are original polk stands (or modified by someone). The tilt is important as it imparted a poor mans version of time alignment to the speakers.

I ended up cutting mine to a 5 degree tilt and they are great.

They tilt back. I'm almost certain they are the original stands, but not 100%.

They have a wooden base, a wooden column, and a metal "stand" where the place the speakers. Does this sound right?

The original Polk stands were all wood... with a six degree tilt... there were two variations... one was about nine inches tall and the other was about four inches...

Well, I listened to the Monitor 7C last night and this morning for a number of hours. They don't stand up to the Infinity RS-II, but they are an excellent speaker. My opinion is that they are a little crisp sounding. Not harsh, just crisp. The bass is not lascking. I like the sound 6 1/2" and passive. Overall a nice speaker. Especially for $50. :)

I have heard about tweeter upgrades and croosover upgrades. Worth the price/trouble? These are a nice sounding speakers that I paid $50 dollars for. Any opinions?
