Family Friendly; National Treasure 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Golden Compass or Enchanted.

More adult; Resident Evil:Extinction, Spiderman 3, Pearl Harbor, Mission Impossible 3.

All these Blu-ray's have great video presentations and most have a lossless track, either TrueHD or DTSMA-HD.

Star Wars episode one has some of the very best surround effects imo, especially neat is the pod racing scene. Though I don't know if you want to turn the volume up too loud on new speakers if they are not broken in yet. Maybe it's ok. Or just don't blast it too loud. Spiderman 3 has great surround effects and sound quality also. Both will show off your new rig real horrorshow.

That's SD-DVD, pretty much anything Blu will blow that out of the water. Don't waste your time demoing anything SD-DVD.

Not on Blu until mid-Sept. Don't demo the SD-DVD either but if you have it on HD-DVD it's good other then the lack of a lossless track.

Bourne Ultimatum, if youre wanting to really show off surround sound. The Incredibles would be a good one also, tons of LFE and its a fun movie.

When you say dedicated, are we talking projector/screen if so what gear did you go with? Just asking....

Put the kiddies to bed and pop in ''300'' on Bluray, the first battle scene when Leonidas plows through the Persians out in front by him self, one of the most bad ass thing ever put on film, IMO.

If that's not an option, Starwars episode III, is one of the best looking SD DVD you will find, it has a great sound track, and it's awesome movie to boot, I mean come on, its Starwars.

One decent family movie on blu is Ratatouille. The Incredible's is great for all ages and is out on blu. One of the best movies for soundtrack and viewing is Master and Commander. What an exciting ride that one is. If you want to wow a crowd with an awesome sound track pull that out of the box.

    The Incredibles out on Blu-ray?

    Really?

I'd love to have that, but I'm not sure it is out yet.

SW 1 has some of the best looking SD you'll ever see. Plus the pod race, as mentioned, is simply unbeatable. I think "Behind Enemy Lines" is out on Blu - what amazing footage with a fighter jet. Chris

Are you kidding me? The edge enhancement on that disc is one of the worst I've ever seen. It's more like one of the worst you'll ever see.

Go back to the original post - I'm sure no one in the audience will have any clue what "edge enhancement" even is. It's still a cool flic if you want to show off a system. Most folks aren't videophiles and anything better than CRT 480i looks great to them. I guess it's Jammer's call as to how sophisticated his viewers are. Chris

Watched Swordfish today on BR and thought it was awesome. As soon as the first explosion went off I thought of this thread. Maybe a little old to show off a new system, but it's a great movie for sure!
