Those two specs have a direct correlation on how your amplifier makes power and how it sends that power to your speakers. They can offer insight in to how much "headroom" your amplifier has.

That was one post of many stating the same thing. Modern day amplifiers have improved to the point that those specs should not be taken into consideration when purchasing an amp.

You're saying they offer insight as to how much headroom an amp will offer. Can you please explain?

Something that does have to do with headroom is the power specs. Buy an amp with the power specs to give you the head room you want.
