Isn't this just the issue of the cascading driver system the LSiC uses?

You can swap the working driver with the non-working driver and see if the problem follows the driver.

My LSiC is no longer under warranty. I don't know how to swap driver or open the speaker. I think it's best for me to send to polk audio repair center; however, i don't know how much it costs to fix it. I hope under $100. If not, i am going to deal with it.

Are you sure the speaker is faulty? The LSiC has a cascading crossover design the runs one driver much more than the other. Do a search on this forum and you'll see a LOT of people who have posted thinking their speaker was broken when it was in fact working as intended. How are you diagnosing that your speaker is not working? If it's just by playing something and seeing if both drivers are operating at the same time, that's not going to cut it.

Thank you very much! I put my fingers on both speakers to test the vibration and sound. Sometime, i feel both of them vibrate and produce sound; however, speaker on the right side vibrates and produce more sound than on the left side.

Is there something wrong with my post? I believe it was accurate information and I believe it turned out to be his issue. Maybe I'm taking your post wrong, but I always try to be helpful and make relevant posts -- I've never once boosted my post count with useless posts. What do you have an issue with specifically?

While I do make it a point to try and ignore your posts - I will quote a reply (or two) I have given to others when this question comes up. (at least once every couple of weeks).

Now on to the question - Are you sure you have a problem? The reason I ask is listed in the following threads from some of the many times people ask about the left speaker working in thier LSiC.

long story short - I think you are fine.
If the left side is not just less volume than the right, what is the problem that you think it is broken?

Did you read through the thread before you posted in it? Did you try playing something that has a wide frequency range through the center channel?

The LSiC uses a Cascade Tapered Array XO design. The two drivers work together over some of the frequency range, but one of them is essentially a low bass driver. The vast majority of the sound and nearly all of the dialogue will come from only one of the drivers.

I'm guessing your speaker is just fine.

i picked up a another brand new LSIC, and found the same problem. A guy at Fry's shows me a LSIC, the left speaker not make any sound. Most of the dialogue is from the right speaker of the LSIC.

So, i totally tested 3 LSIC, and they are all the same.

So, I think that maybe this is the original design of LSIC. Right?

i also tested a CSI A6, and both speakers ( left and Right ) they all works at the same time.

The guy at fry's also think it's wired. I have no idea why the left speaker and right speaker of the LSIC not balanced.

Supposed the 2 speakers should be balanced.

That's how it's supposed to work.

One of the drivers is essentially a dedicated low bass driver, where as the other driver reproduces the upper bass, and all of the midrange. That's the driver that will carry the majority of the center channel information. Think of it as a 3-way speaker if that makes it simpler.

The CSiA6 uses an entirely different XO design, which is why both of the drivers produce the same sound.

Either that or you're just trying to find some more information so you can sell some more stuff at a price higher than retail.

Really though...was it even necessary to ask those questions? This thread answered the very same question before you even posted in it.

    retail for LSIC is $559.

    I bought mine for $320.

So, a lot retailers are scamm customers, right?

IMO, especially in the av world, most stuffs are over-priced.

I bought a Monster 5 channel amplifier for $700. Do you know what's the retail price? $3500. lol

They just over-price eveything and then these stuff on sale, and you can get it cheap, even 70% off. Do you know both the manufacturer and the retailer, they all can also make money even sell it 70% retail price.

They think ppl like above guys are "Smart", deep pocked, lol

    1. Pray that the Monster amp will not fall apart within 3 months.

    2. Don't sell the stuff they are nearly falling apart with a lot more than what you paid for to other folks. :)

    3. New in Box is New in Box, Used is Used! So, just advertise the stuff for what it is. I am sure you wouldn't want to buy New in Box that looks used. :)

    4. Why insult others when you don't have a cent out from your pocket? It's him money and he pays for the fair price. If you buy cheap, consider yourself you are doing better than others.

How is this even remotely related to YOU selling a USED product at over the cost of the retail price of a NEW product?

Never mind the fact that you advertise something for sale as "new in box" and then show a picture of it hooked up in your room with various knick-knacks sitting on top of it.

Sure, a lot of things in the audio/video world are very high priced. You get what you pay for. For those of us who aren't "deep-pocket", there are plenty of affordable options out there as well.

These are companies that are in the business of making money. There's a difference between that and you going and buying something and trying to sell it for higher than retail price.

That's right Curt. You show that woweu who's boss. Make him bite his lip and drop an O-ring.
