DISCLAIMER: Here are parts lists for the most commonly modified Polk speakers. Treat these lists as a guide, not as scripture as there were many transitional and variant Polk speakers sold. The list is for a single speaker; double the parts if you are modifying both speakers. Also, only capacitor, resistor, and inductor parts are listed. Polyswitches and bypass capacitors have been omitted due to the fact that they are usually not replaced when modifying or upgraded most classic Polk speakers; even though inductors usually are as well. Please double check all parts lists and schematics against your actual speakers before you order parts or start modifications.

Thanks for the list, that's great info...

The question now is some of those parts have MUCH greater LONGEVITY than others? So if you're running some of these 15-20+ year old speakers? Which of those parts would you need to replace first and which probably last, almost 'forever'?

i am new to this but would like to try and rebuild a pair of 7c monitors i have. is there any particular brand name to use? i see prices vary on these parts.

The specs above are for a Monitor 7 series2, not the Monitor 7C. See below URL for Monitor 7C and earlier which only have two caps.

+1 on CSi A6, not sure what is the middle yellow component is...
it reads 0.47J100V Met

I assume it's a capacitor??

Other components for stock CSIA6 is:

coil 1 is .15mH
coil 2 is 1mH
and there's 1 small mica caps that I wasn't able to see the value

a bit off topics but I have replaced the 2 bipolar cap with those

CAP 8.0UF 300VAC METAL POLYPRO Digikey pn 495-4140-ND
CAP 9.0UF 10% 750V METAL POLYPRO pn 495-3024-ND

(HAD to take this 750v monster since nothing else was stock)

those are expensive AC (unpolarized) caps that should sound
better than pico sized electrolytic...

so far I am quite pleased with the result, they sound MUCH better!

It has been almost two years since I did my 12C's, but I IIRC they are the same. Easy to check the top Xovers, the bottom ones are attached to the interior side of the binding post cup. Remove the 4 screws and pull it out, or remove PR and have a look. Always good to confirm the "official list" with what's actually there.
