Default Best 2 driver tower? (A tweeter and a mid/bass driver?

Wondering if anyone makes a nice simple, inexpensive good sounding tower-good looking? as well, with only 2 drivers? Just kind of wondering, cause you seem to only see this design on really cheap stuff, or crazy expensive stuff, is there a "midprice market" for this sort of tower?

I meant more so 2 actual drives not just 2 way. Like just one 5 1/4-6 1/2 inch woofer and a tweeter. I know KEF has one, but you only get it in the UK i think.

    What's inexpensive?

KEF is available stateside. They aren't exactly cheap. And if you like a forward presentation, you'll like them.

Another good two way/2 driver speaker is Tannoy, but again, not exactly cheap.

yea the only thing i had know of until now was the av123 tower, the x-sls encore Mid-Tower Loudspeaker. Inexpensive is anything under $700 per pair (if its good quality), cheap would be like under $400 pair and sounding good. Also im in CT and the only thing around here is CC, Best Buy, and B&W and really expensive dealers, no mid-fi stores

I checked out the Epos site and all their floorstanders have 2 mid/bass drivers and a tweeter. Maybe just one driver and a tweeter blows then? I can't say I've actually heard that combo that wasn't a bookshelf speaker. Maybe it'd be easier and cheaper to build one?

Also do single driver + tweeter floorstanding speaker sound any different then dual driver + tweeter towers (I've heard many of those.) If they're both 2 way systems?

In my experience, usually (but not always) dual woofer type setups have less distortion because the load is being split between 2 drivers, requiring less excursion from both. Now, that's not to say they are necessarily better....that varies speaker-to-speaker and is largely a subjective decision from the listener.

Long story short--go listen to speakers and decide for yourself.

I am a big fan of what the ‘Brits often refer to as “compact columns” and certainly there is much to be said for the single driver/single tweeter approach. I do find there is an audible difference; and in fact very much enjoy the very speaker you are currently looking for.

The downside is that good ones are hard to find that are relatively inexpensive. You might try the Mordaunt-Short 904i or for more money both the Monitor Audio RS5 and Totem Arro’s are very nice. Good WAF on all three as well.

I've seen some nice vintage Altecs go for that much. Consider them a tower with a wider base.
