6 channel

Greetings Everyone,

I have a Yamaha HTR 5460 receiver and I just need to know how the 6 channel work. Does it need another hardware or just simply connect it to the speakers? I need all your expertise.

Sonny, welcome to the club. You have a 6.1 amp. You do not need extra hardware but you do need another speaker. The sixth channel is a rear center speaker. When your surrounds are to the sides of you the 6th channel adds sound to the rear of your theater. I have a 6.1 setup and enjoy it very much.

you need a source a tape deck, or a cd player, or dvd player . you have a fm radio buit in the yamaha witch you can get pro-logic precessing from the radio you wont have 6 or7 but 5.1 channel though, you can get 6 or 7 channel from dvd players off the dvd movie, dvd music , dts or dolby digital and add a 6th or and 7th speakers
