    Thumbs up 007 blu-rays $16.99 ($6.49) at Frys

The first six catalog bonds are out on blu-ray and at $16.99 at Frys. This is cheaper than the discounted box set prices. In addition, look for a label with a code on each one for up to $10.50 in e-movie money to go see Quantum of Solace at the theaters.

So really, go see the movie in the theaters with your buddies and the blu-rays are only about $6.49 each. The deals are getting good again for blu-ray...

A decent price here and there hardly warrants the general statement "The deals are getting good again for blu-ray".

I genuinely hope that your statement comes true in the next month or two like it did last year when Sony actually had to compete against HD DVD, but I have yet to see it.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take every deal i can get, but I'd sure like to see the prices and quantity of movies at those prices approach the levels of last year. I don't really expect to see those same deals again, I'd just like to see deals 'nearly' as good.

I've said over the past year that we won't see those prices again now that HD DVD is dead. I honestly hope that I'm wrong because it's in my best interest to be proven wrong in this particular instance

All six classic remastered video and audio bond blu-ray movies for $6.49 each is certainly a great deal, format war or not. It's far more than a "decent" price. Especially if you're going to see Quantum of Solace anyways. Keep pining away for the "good 'ol days" when you couldn't even get paramount/dreamworks/universal when they were hd-dvd exclusive. Barely any Fox titles were ever on sale for less than their 40 buck retail price and the same old titles from Sony and Disney/Buena Vista cycled endlessly in amazon bogos only long after their new release dates. Throw in that you were lucky to even get one good new release every two weeks to a month and sales volume was so low that both formats were about to go down in flames, and those days just don't look so good anymore.

Now we're getting great multiple new releases every week for increasingly nice discounts at even brick and mortar retailers. I'll take a $6.49 deal on the day of release over a bogo you had to wait months for and still had to pay at least $13 to get. New releases at prices below even the bogo level of the format wars. I'd day that warrants a "deals are getting good" comment...at least if you like bond movies...
