Surroundbar 360 Remote questions

Hello all,

I have had no luck programming the SB360 remote to control a Dish Network VIP622 DVR - even with the DVR set to its remote address code 1. I have tried all of the "DVR" codes as well as the "SAT" codes - no go.

If the above can't work, is there a code to enter into the Dish remote to control the SB360 system?

Hi 2geer. Just to make sure, have you tried all of the Echostar SAT codes? Also, could you give me a summary of what the remote address codes are?

Also, there is not currently a remote code on Dish products for controlling the SB360 due to it being so new.

Thanks for your response. I did in fact try all of the codes for both Dish and Echostar listed in the code reference section of the SB360 manual - no luck. When I was speaking off the Dish remote address, I meant the assignable address that exists between the remote and the receiver ie 1, 2, 3, etc. This allows for discrete control when multiple receivers are present. I am sure this address complicates the code table that you folks provide. In my case, I am trying to talk to a Dish 622 receiver set to address code 3 via IR of course.

Another comment. I own a system's integration company that represents Polk in Vermont. When installing the SB360 into a client's home, we placed the SB360 on it's included stands in front of the client's plasma panel which was on a pedestal on a bookcase. The sound and appearance are great and client is very happy. The problem we needed to immediately solve was the SB360 blocks the IR receiver port on the front of the plasma when you install it on its stands. We solved the problem with a repeater system. Just a heads up to anyone using the SB360 on stands.

2geer - Thanks for posting that heads-up. That's certainly a factor folks should think about ahead of time. Sometimes it's that 1/4"-1/2" that messes the whole thing up....in anything.

2geer - Another suggestion is to look at the receiver and see if its a rebranded sat/dvr from another company. For instance, a DirecTV receiver might be a Hughes. I've tried to google this for your receiver, but haven't found any hits.

My final suggestion is to program the 360 remote again with the Dish/Echostar codes and try several remote buttons for each code (including "Guide", "Info", "Menu", and the channel buttons). In my case, my DirecTV DVR receiver at home does not respond to ON/OFF because it does not have this feature. Since the instructions ask you to press the power button to confirm the code is correct, you may be getting a false negative, and that code might work perfectly for all other functions

Off topic question. How do you like yours? Any feeling of surround at all? Bass adequate?
Just wondering, I'm a little disappointed in mine, trying to tweak
