Now what in the heck is the reason for an auction with a BIN with a starting bid at the same price of the BIN? What bonehead would actually start bidding in that case?

    Why ridiculous?

I will say the comment, "a compression crack on the back" does make one wonder if that cabinet wasn't dropped.

I thought the same thing...I was like WTF ? Those have been moved by somebody who wasnt too concerned with their health and wefare...that chunk taken out of the lower corner and the crack on the back wall are scarey.

I would at least pull the radiator on each cabinet and look up inside for hidden damage before even entertaining 900 for them.

Way out in Temecula, too. I've only ever been there for a couple of horse shows. It's a nice enough little down, but I bet that area is hard hit by the housing crisis (a whole lot of new construction with upside down mortgages very likely). Does it not sound a bit like some guy who might have bought these used or something and is trying to make a quick buck flipping them? If FB gets anywhere on that deal, we could maybe go together or something to check them out. That listing just makes my Spidey sense tingle, justified or not.

The speakers also have 6 RDOs and 3 SL3000s which is interesting. I wouldn't rule them out as they may be fine, but like others are saying, buying sight unseen is a bad idea.

You still haven't answered my question as to why you said ridiculous and now you "bump" it. Talk about ridiculous.

In fairness to FB, he edited his post. I think he thought I was buying Fred's pair. I'm not. Up for grabs folks, Steve's already got a pair.

$1680 isn't a bad price, not a great price for their condition, but it's not out there (in pre recession dollars).

Sorry I didn't answer you sooner there...F1Nut. I think $1680.00 is a grossly ridiculous price. Sorry, but that's my educated opinion. I actually think $900.00 is too much for that guy's crappy, cracked, dirty uncared-for speakers. Sorry I didn't quantify that immediately.

As far as the bump goes - I was going to ask where Fred's TL's were being offered. But I knew there are a couple of NUTS on this site who jump all over your case if you don't phrase things a certain way, follow the rules to a T or answer members questions within a 6 hour period. So, I did the research and I found Fred's thread and tried to delete my question. But I couldn't figure out how to delete the reply completely. I could only figure out how to edit. So I wrote bump. Again, sorry. F1Nut. Sorry, sorry, sorry....

So why do you want to argue about my statement? The clock is ticking by the way...

    Argue? I don't argue, I hold court.

Look, the price he is asking is more than fair for the condition. In better condition they have gone for over $3000.00. So much for your educated opinion. Fred's price is very low, SDA SRS's usually sell in that range, so I'd recommend you run, don't walk to buy them.

I'm not gonna sit here and argue with the masters, but in my short time on this really cool forum, I've seen the prices for all the SDA's run the spectrum of ridiculously high to ridiculously low. Not trying to p*ss anyone off here, I'm just going by what I've seen with my own two eyes...

    No disrespect meant.
