    Default Monitor 70 Speaker placement

Ok, I've got the speakers 9 feet from each ear and they are just about 9 feet apart as well. That's about all the space I have at the moment. But I am wondering about whether to toe these speakers in or not? The documentation that they came with seems to suggest that they face directly forward the way the old SDA's did. Any input would be appreciated.

Try it out and see what sounds best to you. I would think a toe in would be better but I'm not in your room.

Just let your ear be the judge. But when I had 70's I preferred them toed in only about an inch. Aiming them directly at me muddied up the sound a bit. But its really hard to answer that for you.

    Default Interesting Change

So I toed them in by about an inch on both sides. Much to my surprise the sound stage is actually wider and deeper. Bass is more coherent and crisp. The speakers themselves are less present, they seem more invisible. I don't hear anything that makes me want to go back to the straight ahead config. Thanks!

That is half the fun of audio, trying something for improvement that doesnt cost anything!
