    Default Lsi15 bass in movies

    Hi everyone

I have a pair of Polk lsi15 connected to an onkyo 876 and powered by a Rotel amp 500wpc @ 4ohms. I have listened to music with them and the sound is great bass is very good for music anyways.:D
The problem is watching movies I have a 7.1 setup including the lsi15s see I have not got a separate subwoofer for the movies and have not really got enough money right now to buy one

Is there anyway to make more bass come from the front speakers the lsi15s to make up for having no sub?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

I use 4 LSi15s set to full range on the AVR, along with a Sunfire TGA-5400 amp. For 99.9% of movies that is all the bass I need, or want. I prefer clear, precise detail in a movie, not a bunch of booms. I rarely turn on the sub, PSW-1000.

I was rewatching Inglorious Basterds last night, and that movie should have won an Oscar for its soundtrack. So many ambient sounds are coming from the surround channels. An excellent job with the audio, and the booms are few and far between.

The only way I got the bass I wanted for movies (and some music) was by adding a sub. I actually have 2 subs and everything plays together nicely.

    My set-up:
    LSi15's
    LSiC
    LC80f/x
    Onkyo 805
    Emotiva XPA3
    Rythmik 12x2

If I am reading you correctly, YES, if it will be to the extent you are looking for, I don't know. Try it and see.

When listening to movies without a sub - (assuming your LSi15's are your front speakers) your front speakers should be set to large and your sub should be set to off.

(you really do want to get a sub though - trust me on that....)

remember that the LSi15's woofers are only 8"... they can't push too much bass out with that size... you could blow out the voice coil if you push it too much...
